  REVIEW:

On September 11, 2001, America was brutally attacked.  This is the true story of two men (Nicolas Cage and Michael Pena) who survived the collapse of the World Trade Center and their families.  Nearly six years after the attacks, no one has forgotten.  This movie takes you on an extremely vivid and emotional journey remembering what New York was like before the attacks, how many people were brutally murdered that day and the mass confusion of a country in shock.  Port Authority agents were entering the World Trade center to evacuate the buildings when the first tower collapsed.  Two of the agents survived the collapse but were nearly crushed and were trapped.  The movie shows the emotional and spiritual journey of those two men and their families as they tried to stay alive until help arrived.  They were two of only 20 survivors that were pulled from the rubble.  Thousands of heroes’s died that day and many more put their lives on the line to save all they could.

Powerful, gripping, and extraordinarily realistic - so much so, in fact, that you have the overwhelming experience of actually being there, at the World Trade Center, on 9/11, as it's happening.  In spite of the tremendous tragedy of that day, though, World Trade Center is really about heroics and survival.  It focuses so much on the plight and perspective of these two men and their families that you really aren't wallowing in the total despair of that day.  However, because it is so realistic and reminiscent, it does bring back all of the emotions you had that day.  Regardless of how you feel now about US policy in Iraq and Afghanistan, you leave World Trade Center devastated and outraged and wondering who else we can invade in search of justice.  World Trade Center is an exceptional depiction of an inspiring and emotional story that everyone should know.  Before you see it, though, you have to decide if you're ready to relive your story from that day as well.

  MOVIE NIGHT TRAFFIC LIGHT:

On the Movie Night Traffic Light on a scale of GREEN meaning “Go – it’s a must see”, YELLOW meaning “Caution – it’s okay” and RED meaning “No - stop don’t do it."

We rate World Trade Center GREEN.  Although the subject matter is brutally emotional, this movie is well done.
